PET THERAPY PROGRAM

Pet therapy enables people to interact with companion animals which has proven health benefits. Studies show these interactions can have positive effects on both the emotional and physical well-being.

Ohlone Humane Society’s therapy animal teams can visit senior care facilities, schools, libraries, colleges/universities, hospitals, clinics, counseling/therapy sessions, crisis response sites, airports and more!

And yes—those ARE dogs in the library! Therapy dogs in Fremont’s Centerville Library, that is. Read-to-a-Dog is a popular program that provides a supportive environment for children who are shy about reading aloud.
